Welcome to a delightful dining experience at The Kinmel Arms, St George, Abergele (Llansan Sior in Welsh). Surprisingly, this haven of rural tranquility is only a few hundred meters from the A55 North Wales Expressway with ready access to the coast, mountains and cwms of beautiful North Wales. Having both eaten at The Kinmel Arms since childhood we conjured an image of what we would like it to be.

After travelling widely in Britain, Europe and indeed the world, sampling great food and hospitality we wished we could bring together our best experiences and share them much closer to home. We are still searching for new ideas and tastes for your delight! On February 14th 2002 (a memorable romantic occasion!) we purchased The Kinmel Arms and redesigned the interior. We gave up our respective jobs in business management and teaching to transform our future and our new home.

With our superb team of staff we have created an award winning dining venue to which we have now added four bedroom suites. We and our staff look forward to welcoming you all to The Kinmel Arms, whether for a quick drink, a meal or an overnight stay.

The Kinmel Arms is perfectly situated as a base to explore North Wales.
Below we have listed some things you can explore.

Walking

Walkers are a stroll from the now completed Wales Coastal Path, Offa’s Dyke and the Clwydian Hills are 10 minutes away & the delights of Snowdonia for walkers, climbers and mountaineers start with only a 20 minute drive!

Castles

We are surrounded by castles with Rhuddlan, Denbigh, Flint, Conwy, Beaumaris, Penrhyn, Caernarfon and Harlech all within a short drive.

Biking

North Wales is a mecca for mountain biking with trails in Llandegla, the Marin Trail near Betws y Coed and Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau all within distance for a great days riding. For gentler cycling we are 5 minutes from the Coastal Cycle track

Gardens

The beautiful Bodnant Gardens is only 20 minutes away, now with the bonus of the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre.

Railway

If steam trains are your thing North Wales has certainly cornered the market!! The legendary Snowdon Mountain Railway, Ffestiniog Railway, Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, Llangollen Railway, Llanberis Lake Railway and Bala Lake Railway are all a short drive away.

Golf

The Kinmel Arms is at the epicentre of a golfer's paradise with three of North Wales's finest championship golf courses within a 15 minutes drive from our front door. The first and the closest of all is Abergele Golf Club. Set in the woodlands that surrounds Abergele Castle. At Rhuddlan Golf Club a warm welcome awaits and some interesting changes to the design of the course have seen the pond extended over the 10th fairway to help with drainage meaning this course can now be enjoyed 12 months of the year by visiting parties. No two holes are the same at Rhuddlan Golf Course so you will leave with great memories of a great course and a great day.

If parkland courses are not your thing then there is only one course that you should contemplate. Prestatyn Golf Course is by far the best links golf course in the area and is a tough test indeed from the white or indeed the yellow tees. First time visitors should load up with plenty of golf balls as there is lots of rough to deal with if you miss the long finely groomed fairways.

By all means try further afield as there are over 50 first class golf courses within a 30 minute drive from The Kinmel Arms Hotel and as with all the golf courses listed in here you may well receive a discount on your green fees if you ask a member of our staff to book your green fees for you.
